Locksmith — Two Positions Available (Calgary, AB) Always Affordable Locksmiths

We are hiring for two positions immediately. Read both descriptions carefully and apply only for the role that matches your actual experience.

POSITION 1 — SHOP LOCKSMITH

This is a counter-based position at our Calgary shop. You will be working directly with walk-in customers, cutting keys, servicing hardware, and providing expert security advice across residential, commercial, and automotive applications.

Do not apply for this position unless you have direct experience working inside a locksmith shop or locksmith company. Installing a deadbolt as a handyman, contractor, or maintenance worker does not qualify you. We will verify your background.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Cutting keys across a full range of systems (standard, high-security, transponder, tubular, and more)
• Rekeying, servicing, and repairing mechanical and electronic lock hardware
• Assisting walk-in customers with lockouts, key duplication, and hardware selection
• Advising customers on appropriate security products for their application
• Safe work, master key systems, and access control hardware (an asset)
• Maintaining accurate key records and shop inventory

What We Require:

• Verifiable experience working inside a locksmith shop or company — non-negotiable
• Proficiency with key cutting machines and a broad range of lock brands
• Strong customer service & communication skills — you are the face of the shop
• Completion of a recognized locksmith program is an asset, but proven shop experience carries more weight

POSITION 2 — ROAD TECHNICIAN

This is a mobile field position. You will be dispatched to residential, commercial, and automotive customers across Calgary and surrounding areas in a company-provided vehicle.

The same rule applies — do not apply if you have not worked for a locksmith company. Being a handyman who installs the occasional lock does not make you a locksmith.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Responding to lockouts (residential, commercial, automotive)
• Installing and servicing locks, deadbolts, closers, and electronic access hardware on-site
• Rekeying locks at customer locations
• Representing Always Affordable Locksmiths professionally in the field
• Using our modern dispatch software to manage calls and scheduling efficiently

What We Require:

• Verifiable experience working as a field technician for a locksmith company
• Valid driver's licence with a clean abstract
• Ability to work independently and manage your time in the field
• Strong customer service skills — you will be working directly in people's homes and businesses
• Automotive locksmith experience is an asset
